Location: Sidney's, Jost van Dyke
Hello, all parents! Today is day 15 of this amazing trip, and was one of the most memorable days yet! We started off with an early awakening in Cane Garden. We headed over to the dock and prepared for the 10-mile steep and challenging hike to the top of Mt. Sage (the highest point in BVI’s). Juni, Charles, and I got a quick start up the steep, windy road as Drake, Chase, and Eli began slow and steady. After around 2 hours, we all made it to the top, and Juni led the boat, finishing in 21st place. After the long hike, we all got the opportunity to explore Cane Garden and all the many shops and restaurants it had to offer. Amelia and Carla enjoyed a cheeseburger and fries, as Landon ate some BBQ wings with a lemonade. After lunch, we went to the grocery store to stock up on snacks for the upcoming week. Kai bought a variety of different snacks, and Chase bought a Block O’ Jello. We all headed back to the boat afterward and sailed to Sandy Cay, where our boat participated in a sand castle competition. Landon led the group in creating a stunning turtle but it was unfortunately not enough to beat a titanic made by students on the dive side. Afterward, we sailed to Jost Van Dyke Island alongside many other AQ boats to go to the Sydney Peace & Love BBQ. During the BBQ, Christina and Alex enjoyed a nice dinner together as well as everybody was caught partaking in buying iconic tee shirts. The day didn’t stop after the fun BBQ, though, as we were rafted with other boats on both sail sides. We all moved around to different boats, meeting new people and having a fun time, resolving in a late night and an awesome day.
