Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today was a wonderful day filled with a wide range of activities. We started the morning at our favorite anchorage, Mountain Point. Brig and Molly prepared bagels and yogurt for our breakfast. We had a rotation day; our first activity was water sports. Rachael and Ella mastered 360s on the kneeboard, Claire wakeboarded, and Tucker learned how to waterski. Our second activity was paddle boarding. Catherine, Greta, and Ella did handstands on the paddle boards while Claire, Freddy, Tucker, Alyssa, and Brig paddle-boarded to the nearby beach.
Meanwhile, Rachel and Jordan chilled and tanned. Rachel also did some free diving and touched the deep bottom of the bright blue ocean. During our paddle boarding, Captain Garrett prepared deli-style grilled cheeses for lunch. After lunch, the entire boat, including Arden, headed to the beach. Tucker, Freddy, Brig, Greta, and Carson played with a frisbee while Jordan, Rachel, Molly, and Ella went on a walk and found some super pretty shells, including many sea biscuits that Arden saw. There were many sea urchins, moon jellies, and conch shells in the water. Jordan and Catherine had a long talk about Disney cruises. Then, we had our scuba diving rotation on the dive boat, where Tyler had been all day. Greta and Jordan conquered their fears of diving, and Freddy conquered his deathly fear of baby sting rays. While diving, Claire, Freddy, and Ella saw stingrays four times. We all finished our confined diving skills!!! While we finished diving, Arden made delicious tacos for us. We are now all deep-cleaning the boat. During dishy pit, a plate unfortunately went overboard… but Rachel saved the day and jumped in with her clothes on. We will soon prepare for a lesson about coral reef conservation. Our highlight of the day was breathing underwater and having a fun dive!!
