Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
It was 4 am. I didn’t get a lot of sleep because I decided to stay up until 12, and I wasn’t expecting the storm that was about to come. Sleeping in the cabin, I woke up to the sound of feet, many feet climbing the side of the boat. The next thing I heard was Sandstorm. Blasting through the speakers, it shook the whole boat along with the stomping of all the staff upstairs. This was the start of Rhone Day. I walked upstairs to the sight of Aiden Drinking a Red Bull and screaming, Scuba Diving. Before I even knew what was going on, the first boat came on. The Advanced kids poured onto the boat one by one, adding to the chaos. Today we had to give a briefing on the Rhone. A boat that sank in the 1860s was thought to have been unsinkable at the time. It wasn’t. Sitting on the nav table, I went over my
Briefing with Dan, Maddy, Jack, and Caroline. The good news was I wasn’t 1st rotation, so I didn’t have to dive. But I did have to do rescue seven again. Maddy, Ava, Jack, Kaleigh, Bella, and I struggled but got through it. After, we went on our dives to the Rhone. Beforehand we had to give a briefing where the night before, Amanda and Harley practiced crazy for. The Rhone was very cool. There was plenty of Marine life, including turtles, sharks, a grouper, and an octopus. After The First three rotations, we had lunch. Ramen was the meal, and I swear Dan and Maddy can’t cook it, but somehow they managed to. The Last rotation was the hardest. Everyone was so tired, so we had to find energy for the last boat. Ultimately we were able to, and as the last boat left, everyone felt a strong sigh of relief. We then headed to GHP, where we got to watch the sunset along with eat breakfast for dinner. After, we all sat in the salon, and we relaxed as Harley made fried Oreos.
