Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
Today we woke up at 7 am and got breakfast ready while the counselors went to a meeting. We ate french toast with Nutella and syrup with cantelope on the side. Once the counselors got back to the boat, we practiced man overboard for an hour or two. We each helmed, pointed, and called the distance away from the object. Later, we tied up to a mooring ball at Cane Garden Bay. We sat in the mooring ball field and talked. We were in Cane Garden Bay for the majority of the day. While we were at lunch, most of the girls decided to play the tortilla game where you slap each other in the face with a tortilla until one of you spit the water out of your mouth. We also played sailing jeopardy to study for our sailing exam.
About two hours ago, I helmed all the way over to Sandy Spit. While we were heading over here, I was telling everyone stories about when my best friend who was playing pony by herself at my house. We were trying to anchor, but it wasn’t working very well, so we pulled up the anchor and it had a massive rock on it. Once we got the rock off, we found a better spot and anchored. Right now, we are waiting for the food to finish getting cooked, and we are all learning how to solve Rubix cubes and shuffle cards.
It’s been a good day.
