Location: Statia
We started the day with a nice hike up Ile Fourchue. After a scramble climb to the top, there was an amazing view of the ocean and surrounding islands. Alex gained the nickname Mountain Goat for his ability to descend the mountain so quickly. Once we got back to the boat, we prepared for our passage to Statia. Underway, we experienced high winds and lots of rain, making the sail very exciting. At one point, Wombat was sailing 10 knots! After arriving at Statia, Nick cleared customs for us while the rest of us jumped into the ocean. Missy and Benzi set up a boom swing which Audrey did a flip-off. Audrey, Sophie, and Ana went snorkeling by the boat and found a very large fish which we first thought was a shark. Our chefs, Alex and Johnathan, cooked a delicious dinner of garden burgers, and Noah made Arnold Palmer. After clean up, we hung out on the bow and went to bed early for a full day tomorrow.
