Location: Statia
Our day started with the fun news that our freshwater pump broke, and we wouldn’t have access for the time being. We had a few full pitchers of water, so we were alright. We enjoyed breakfast burritos and then headed to Statia for shore time. MRB (Miranda), Audrey, and I hiked to the top of Statia, which had a forested creator at the top, plus views of the island. Sophie, Alex, Noah, and Violet went to a coffee shop in town and visited a fort located on the island. In the afternoon, there was also an amazing dive where we saw nursing sharks, sting rays, turtles, coral reefs, and shipwrecks. Those who stayed on shore also saw a nursing shark on the beach! On a more tedious note, all of us had to test for covid, but no one tested positive! We then headed back to Wombat to find that our skipper Nick had found a new pump! We then had some grilled cheese made by Sophie and Audrey. Now, all that’s left is to get cleared by customs. Then we’ll be at Nevis after a night of sailing!
