Location: Saba

We woke up today at 8 o’clock to very choppy waves. We ate cereal for breakfast and started getting ready to go into Saba. Our skipper, Nick, drove our boat closer to the dock so we could enter without having to get very wet. The water was super choppy when we got there and made it hard to stay dry in the dinghy. When we got off the dinghy, there was a bunch of huge fish in the water next to the shore. Once everyone was transported to the dock, we got into the taxis and were driven to Windward Side, one of the towns on the Island of Saba. The taxi drive was not what anyone was used to. The road had a lot of turns in order to get up the mountain and many ocean views. Once we got up the mountain, we drove through the town and left the taxi in front of a glass-making store. This was our shore time to do whatever we wanted for three hours. At the glass-making store, all the girls were making glass with Jo Bean, the owner of the store. Johnathan, Noah, and I walked down into town and ate lunch. We then wandered around town for a while until it was time to leave. Once we were finished visiting Saba, it was time to motor to St. Barts. For dinner underway, we had risotto and some leftover pasta from the day before. Violet, our gopher, made a drink with every drink powder that we had. It tasted a lot better than we thought it was going to be. We were eating dinner underway when someone spilled the juice mix all over the table, and it got all over Ana, Audrey, and Sophie, which made everyone laugh a lot.

We listened to music, talked, and laughed the rest of the way to St. Barts. Miranda drove the boat most of the way to the island. Finally, we arrived in the St. Barts docking area at around 9 PM. We had to moor the boat to the ball in the water. This means tying a rope to the inflatable ball in the water. When we brought the ball up, it went under the boat, taking our boat hook with it. We had to use the broom to finish mooring, and Audrey was able to get the final line through. We then cleaned everything up, had a squeeze, and went to bed.
