Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

Today we started off with a really early morning… or rather the instructors did at the early ripe time of 5 am. The reason was to sail our way over to the baths!!! We left our boat out of the swimming lines and had to swim over to the beach in order to get to the island. We spent around two hours there, having a great time exploring this island of massive boulders. My favorite part was the little pools of water through the giant rocks. But I assume most people’s favorite part was cliff jumping into a deep pool of water. Most people did flips, one even doing a backflip while going forward, called a gainer!! After exploring baths a whole bunch, it was time to go. One quick thing to mention was the sand was so soft at the baths. While on the sail to our next spot, I learned a lot about channel markers. The main point was to keep your starboard (right side) to the red marker and port (left side) to the green marker. This is because it labels where shallow water is in order not to hit it. After that lesson, we went into a town for the first time!! This was very exciting as we had our own money to spend. While there, I chose to get food with a couple of friends named Avery and Miranda. They got my order wrong, which was disappointing but still some of the best food I’ve tasted since being at sea. After that, we went to a store and bought food for the boat… or rather snacks for us. We then went on a long sail to where we are now. The sail was really fun today with the boat on a huge tilt. We were going around 8.9 knots (11mph)!!! We just had beef stroganoff for dinner, and our getting ready for bed now. I enjoyed it a lot today, and honestly one of the best so far.
