Location: The Bight, Norman Island

Today our day began by getting to sleep in until eight, which was nice after a long travel day yesterday. We then woke up to all the beautiful Action Quest boats around us. Soon after, we ate breakfast. Then we left where we were anchored and went to the dock to fill up the tanks with water before we left for our first sail. We got to chill on the boat while the water tanks were getting filled and got to experience the heat in the BVI early in the morning. After we were done with that, we got on our way to having our first sail. It was around a two-hour sail, me (Sam) and Lilly got to put up the main sail, while all of the other kids got to do something for the sailboat to run as well. Our sail was filled with good wind and some choppiness. During this time, we learned new names for things on the boat, more about sailing, and got to spend time together. On the way to the snorkel destination caves, Maddie, Luke, Lilly, Miranda, Isabel, and I sat on the high side of the boat while we were sailing. While Charlie, Avery, Ari, and Gabe all sat in the cockpit and got to chill in there. Some of us even got to take the wheel. Next, we arrived at our snorkel destination and took a swim test by swimming seven laps around the boat and treading water for ten minutes. We all did great!

The water here is absolutely amazing and is so clear and blue, and there are so many boats around us. After the swim test, we got on a dinghy and went over to another action quest neighbor boat to get gear for snorkeling. We got on our snorkels, jumped in, and it was SO COOL. We all liked the flippers, and Gary showed us how deep you could really go. We swam through the caves and saw a turtle, rainbow fish, and a stingray. I even saw one of my friends on a different boat that I met at the airport. After snorkeling for a while and learning a new skill for diving, we took the dinghy back to our boat. We got to take some pictures and go swimming before we took our first outdoor showers. They were pretty fun, actually. Then we all sat in the cockpit and talked for a while and got to know each other a little better. Next, we sailed over to a new spot, ate dinner, which Charlie made and was very good, and all hung out some more. It is now later tonight, and everyone is cleaning up and getting ready for a dive talk later. It was a fun day full of new experiences, and I am ready for many more.
