Today is our 15th day as dolphins, and it has been a blast so far! It’s so hard to believe we have been living on this Boat for two weeks. We started our morning by waking up the earliest we have ever gotten, which was 5:45. The reason why we were waking up this early was because today was the day we were going to be hiking up the tallest mountain in the BVI! We all had a quick breakfast of cereal before we met up with all of the other boats on shore to begin our journey. The start of the hike was definitely the roughest because the mountain was extremely steep. Luckily, we all made it to the top, but that was only the start of our hike. The rest of our hike consisted of flat and steep areas. We all hiked for probably a good hour and a half before we reached a certain point of the mountain that had a little station where we could buy drinks and snacks. After we got something to eat and were all fueled up, we continued our journey for another 15 minutes before we reached the top. We were all very exhausted, but got to put our names in a special book as a reward for conquering the mountain. (none of us passed out or got injured). After our mountain adventure, we went all the way back down and found a little restaurant where we all ate some good lunch. After our lunch, we made our way to the grocery store inside the little town we were in, where Ellie, Josie, Emi, Juju, Kylie, Antonio, Maren, Mahe, Ari, Sonja, Juno, and I all got some snacks to restock up for the rest of our trip. After that, we sailed to a beach where we had a sand castle building competition with all of the other boats. Our group created a HUGE sea turtle, some moon jellies, and a moray eel out of sand, rocks, and sargassum seaweed. Unfortunately, our group did not win, but all of us worked very hard and were very proud of what we created. After that, it was around 4:00, and the evening was coming quickly. But the excitement was not over yet because we ended the day with another barbecue with all of the other boats, where we bought t-shirts, partied, and had a great time. After the barbecue, we were all dead tired, so we rode the dinghy back to the boat for a much-needed sleep.
Your very adventurous skipper signing off,
