Location: Marina Cay
Today was an early start on Nacho. We were woken up at 6:30 with Girls by Lizzo, and no later than 6:45, we Vega girls were saying bye to our DM’s for the day and heading to Nomada with our girl dad Ayden. Meanwhile, the DM’s were getting ready for the day and had cereal for breakfast on their way to The Dogs with the surprise of seeing a flamingo fly by (I’m so jealous). We, Vega girls, got to have breakfast with our friends from Nomada and Glad To Be Here, and said goodbye to Mountain Point. We spent the morning sailing to Leverick and practicing our tacks and jibes with Skylar, Mia, and Ayden. Aggie put in the hard work and sweat to get our main sail up and get us going. We each got the chance to get on the helm as well as ease out and pull in the jib sheet.
Pulling in is definitely not our favorite, so Alli and I may have snuck the secret button that does it for us while Ayden wasn’t looking, shhh! While we continued our sail, the DM’s set up their gear and briefed for open waters before splashing. Hayden and Jaden got to lead one dive, and Lila got to lead two. Avi, Tyler, Wylie, and Alex got to assist some open water students as well. For lunch, the DM’s got back on Nacho for some mac and cheese while the Vega girls helped anchor Nomada at Leverick and also enjoyed mac and cheese while Ayden filled up the boat’s water tanks. Juliette even went for a quick swim before we took off again. After lunch, we lifted the anchor on Nomada and headed off to Marina Key, where we are spending the night. This time was a little less sailing and a lot more napping. Skylar motored us over while Aggie, Alli, and I took a nap on the top deck. After lunch, Lila, Tyler, and Jayden got to do a fun dive with staff members Ruby, Annika, and Ansie, where they got to see a nurse shark (also jealous of this one too). Tyler then motored them to Marina Key after everyone was back on board, where we all finally got to see each other again. We love spending time with our Nomada friends, but coming home to Nacho and our DM’s is one of our favorite parts of the day! Once we were united on Nacho, everyone took showers and got ready for our delicious dinner prepared by Alex and Tyler. They made us tortellini with garlic bread, which was a bit soggy but still very good! To finish our dinner, we had our daily squeeze and answered the question, if you were granted one wish, what would it be? Many of our answers involved wishing the best for our family members because we all miss you guys so much! After dinner, we all did our chores and hung out in the salon before our DM’s had to go meet with Mike, and the Vega girls had a forum chat with Ayden. Anyway, today was a lot of fun for all of us, even though we were apart, and now we are waiting for our cookies to come out of the oven! Bye, guys. Talk to you soon!
