This morning, someone let the dogs out, and Lucy and Matthew started to cook a delicious French toast. After realizing four pieces of bread take up too much pan real estate, we dug in and set up our dive gear. We briefed on doing our circle navigation patterns, knots, and lift bags to get one step closer to our rescue certifications. While Roman, Declan, and Redden locked in on the knots one last time, we all splashed for what we hoped to be a quick in-and-out dive. Matthew and I had a chilly but efficient time moving through the dive activities. To end our morning, we headed around the corner to Leverick’s Bay for our first time stepping on shore for the day. Rachel and Declan helped London dock with the roaming fenders, and finally, with our boat being securely tied to the dock, we could get our phones for the first time this trip. After making some phone calls, we got off the boat to get a snack cabinet refill and some lunch. Redden and Humphrey lost to the pizza 0-1. Dawson is 1-0 to the quesadilla. When our bellies were full and our phones were away, we popped off the dock to anchor for an Emergency First Responder course led by Perry, another dive instructor, for the afternoon. The dive masters joined us to watch Maddie securely roll an “injured” Matthew into the recovery position with ABSOLUTELY no chance of further brain damage. As the dive masters left us and we wrapped up our EFR talk, Scarlett and Ruby swiftly began a fashion show during the downtime before our BBQ at Leverick’s. With a quick boat photoshoot, we hopped back on land for the second time today. Scarlett and her new sailside friend danced all night long and really badly wanted a shirt she came short of getting. The BBQ was so much fun, and it was fun to socialize with the entire fleet. We’ve now dinghyed back to the boat and are coping with the unfortunate news of losing our super dinghy.
