Location: The Dogs

Crickets chirping, water swaying, and hushed conversations. A calm way to start the morning until Bruno Mars’ radio starts vibrating the speakers, as we could hear the bass. Today was an especially quick morning thanks to our great gopher Evan and chefs Redden and Declan getting out the cereal and milk. Our rush didn’t stop there, as we had to get back out at sea to our first dive at The Chimneys at 9 am. Everyone enthusiastically rushed to put their gear together and jump into the water to see the attraction our consulars hyped it up to be “a super cool pass through”. As we descended, not all the fish were up, so it was a calm swim. Most people still had the Bruno Mars concert on their mind and were jamming in the water. We swam through an underwater cavern until we came upon this slit to get back to the reef. This was called “The Chimney”, and Dawson and Redden confidently went through it as they love adventure. When ending the dive, everyone remained in the water to look at the waking reef until our time was cut as oxygen started to dwindle. When everyone was on the boat, it was time to book it to another dive site, which took an hour. During our sail, Ruby enjoyed one of her many naps of the day. When approaching our second dive site at Shark planes, where there is a net like you would see at a kids’ park, people climbed on and old planes converted to look like sharks. It was time to set up gear underway; this was the second navigation dive for one of our many certifications. When beginning this dive, we saw a barracuda lurking under our boat, which was frightening for some. When almost descending, Declan’s second respirator began to free flow, canceling his dive as all of his oxygen was spent, and we needed to get a new one. Scarlett, Ruby, Rachel, Madison, and Lucy were having girl talk underwater, somehow signing it when Evan swayed in and joined to talk about the new tea. A truly fun dive as we made a flag in water for navigation and most eyes were locked on to the shark art.

When realizing where Humphrey and Mathew went due to their absence, they accidentally kicked and cycled out 90 times, having to surface and make the drag back to the boat. When coming back to the boat, most people were talking about the epic dive site and how much everyone enjoyed it. Again, we put our gear away and slowly made it back to Mountain Point, where in the meantime, everyone was tired and moved slowly around the boat, but we learned to do our rescue knots: Bowline, Double half hitch, and sheet bend. At Mountain Point, we settled down, taking showers and prepping our Vegetable burger dinner. During the prep, our consulars Rachel and London got invited to the tea party. Evan, Humphrey, Mathew, and I wanted to come but were ultimately rejected. Today was filled with adventure and diverse conversations, growing our friendship with each other with laughter. Presh for the read about our days and how you can count on me like 1 2 3 to deliver fresh info.
