WAKE UP, IT’S RACE DAY!!! Jk, it’s too early (2 am), and a massive rain storm awoke those sleeping outside (Elin, Bella, and Chloe). Luckily, they went back to sleep, and the day properly began around 7 am. Elin tagged along with Annika to the skippers’ meeting, which addressed the race course and rules, while the rest of the boat ate cereal for breakfast. We then proceeded to put up the main sail and make our way to the starting line, where we put up the jib and began the race!! We thought we were going to be behind the other boats because we are a catamaran and have a lot of stuff on our boat, BUT while CROSSING FIRST DOWN THE FINISH LINE, we played “All I do is win”. WE WERE SO HYPE IT WAS THE BEST EVER! Docking at West End, we indulged in a filling lunch, the whole boat seated together, with a side of shopping. Around 1 pm, we returned to Oryx and began our second race of the day. This second race involved tacking, which allowed us to sit on the net at the bow of the boat. Jacob and Kellan stayed in the helm, steering us to victory, while most of us stayed on the net. Finally, Kellan joined the net, along with Sam and George, leaving it to be a girls’ party on the net. We. Have. Never. Had. A. Better. Time.
Holy 🐮, we had a blast, seriously felt like a roller coaster. Elin, Ada, Margot, Kellan, Chloe, and Grace were restless, through rain and shine, we stayed on the net, dodging the jib and holding on for dear life while going over huge waves. WE THEN WON AGAIN, DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE!!! 1ST PLACE BABY. Molly, Bella, and the boys were upstairs. We arrived at Great Harbour Peter to a dreadful stench of Sulfur, making our boat not so keen on ocean showering, but we did! Concluding our lovely sailing day with 2 VICTORES, we had some nice conversation over a lovely chili. Our squeeze question of the day really showed our TRUE COLORS, with the question being “If you had 24 hours where everyone but you was frozen, what would you do?” We discovered the majority of us would go on massive robbing sprees.
