Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Hi everyone! I’m Bella Woodroof, the Skipper of day two on Onyx! We started our day at about seven with the “Turn My Swag” concert by Soldja Boy. Most of us slept inside, but Kellen, Jane, Sam, and George all slept in hammocks. We had some amazing cereal made by our cooks, Kellen and Jake, before heading out on a short trip that was about an hour and a half. On our voyage, we let out the jib and the main sail and learned so much about the boat. Sam, George, Jake, and I all played cards on the trip over, then we all attempted the bowling knot and the half hitch for our fenders before nailing the docking at the mooring ball. We plan to have a competition on who can tie knots the fastest once we learn five. After we ate lunch- ham and cheese sandwiches- we all passed the swim test with flying colors. Then we excitedly hurried to go snorkeling in our new awesome spot. We all went into a cave with our new fins and masks, ensuring we had a blast. Then we all took an ocean shower for the first time. Turns out we all were pretty tired, so Ada, Chloe, Molly, Grace, Kellen, Jane, Macie, Marlins, and I all had a book club. We even saw a turtle and some stingrays, with the background out of a movie with the sunset. Dinner is Sloppy Joe’s- once again being a delicious meal. We then did a long dive chat to prepare for our first dive soon, but we had brownies to make it even better! We are excited for another awesome day tomorrow!
