Location: Road Harbor, Tortola
Hi Families,
Everyone woke up today feeling completely rejuvenated after our night with the unexpected luxury of all-night air conditioning. To start our day, most of us did a brief final review of our Rescue and EFR material in preparation for our exams. Next, we fueled up with the delicious pancakes Liam and Yeya cooked up for us. Then, as most of you probably know, we all got our phones back for an hour to call all of you and update you all about everything going on. Afterward, we showed off our skills as academic powerhouses when we all passed both the EFR and Rescue exams. Shortly after, however, we were greeted by the confirmation of the rumors that we would be staying in villas because of the increasing intensity of the incoming weather. While surprised at first, all of us quickly became super excited while we packed the clothes we would need for our stay at the “Limeberry Cottage.” After promptly packing and getting off the boat with everything we needed, we waved a temporary goodbye to our home, Aloha, and Ri, who was staying on the boat while we were gone. We then made our way over to the main lobby of the Moorings Base, set our things down, and got in line at the cafe for some lunch before our journey to the villa. Charly, River, and I all enjoyed some Jerk Chicken paninis, Liam and Daniella had “Panizzas,” Yeya and Aria had a turkey wrap, and Everybody else went to the grocery store to get some food to bring to the villa. At around 2:30, the taxis showed up to bring the boat to our new temporary “Aloha.” The first taxi took Daniella, Charly, Lila, Aria, Gene, and me, while the second taxi took Logan, Yeya, River, Liam, Lindsay, and Maeve. We arrived at Limeberry after a wonderful scenic drive through Tortola. Upon our arrival, we checked the place out and went right to the TV to see what the movie situation was. After River clicked through Netflix for us a bit, we unanimously decided on watching White Chicks. Following our hour-and-a-half session of laughs, we sat down to a beautiful tortellini dinner accompanied by salad and garlic bread. Next, we played a quick and thrilling game of hide-and-seek. Some highlights were Logan’s spot on top of the fridge and Charly’s spot in the bedsheet cabinet. We then felt like royalty using the dishwater, and now, as I am writing this, we have just gotten our phones. We are all looking forward to a night of trivia with Gene and (likely) watching Divergent.
Cheers!
Avi
UPDATE:
As I was about to upload this to the Bloginator, the power was officially out in the villa. Prayers up!
