Hey Families, Charly Again. Today was a super eventful day. We started by being woken up by screams and thrashing in the water. At 6:15 am, we had yet another surprise scenario. Avi quickly got up on the hard deck and started spotting. Aria and I were kitted up and in the water diving just 3 minutes after the scenario had begun. Aria retrieved and rescue 7’d Whitney and handed her off to Logan so she could go retrieve Gene. I retrieved Will, who, at the surface, became a panicked diver and tried to drown me after I had just saved him. So I did my best to calm him, and after a long fight, I got him onto the boat. By then, Liam had surfaced another unresponsive diver (Ri) and was performing rescue 7. I jumped back into the water to help Logan and Aria unclip Gene from his gear. Then I jumped onto the transom to help Liam exit Ri. We pulled him up and started CPR and Rescue Breaths.
Meanwhile Lila and Daniella were performing CPR and Rescue Breaths on Whitney. Avi and Aria were performing rescue efforts on Gene. Yeya was busy consoling the Panicked Diver Will and making sure he remained calm. River called EMS and helped everyone apply emergency oxygen. We ended the scenario at 7:00 am. We then debriefed and learned that it was drastically improved from our scenario yesterday. After our debrief, we ate cereal, and then at 7:45 am, we briefed for our last Search and Recovery Dive. We got assigned an object to find (Yeya and I had a Blue GoPro, Daniella and Aria had to find a necklace, Logan and Lila had a Dinghy Engine, and Liam, River, and Avi had another Dingy Engine). All the objects were actually dive weights of kettlebells but resembled the right size. After being assigned our object and buddies, we decided what search pattern to use and went on our way. We all completed the dive successfully. We then cleaned our Dingy Rango so we could turn it in, and we headed to West End for lunch and a refill of water. We stayed in West End for 4 hours before Mike briefed us on the upcoming events. Because of the possibility of an incoming storm, we returned to Moorings in Road Town to stay safe. On the voyage over, all of us lay out on the trampolines on the bow of the boat and got drenched by the large waves that crashed over the boat. We had a great time on the trampolines as we pulled into Moorings. Once we were docked, we took freshwater showers, and Aria and Logan made dinner. We all enjoyed Mexican Night and ended our dinner by dancing to “Wobble” on the hard deck. After dinner, we had a quick clean-up so we could begin our long night of studying for our big rescue exam tomorrow. We all miss our families a lot and are excited to see you in just four days.
Love you lots
