Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
Today, we got to wake up a little late, around 8, and soon headed underway to go to Sandy Spit. We all started talking about the scenarios that we have seen in the past. We knew that they were gonna happen soon. But first, we did a search and recovery dive, which was the 3rd we’ve done. We all practiced the Jackstay search pattern. Charly saw a seahorse, and everyone else had to see photos of it. Then we began lunch, which was mac and cheese. It was incredible. While cleaning up, we saw a dinghy coming with four staff members, and we knew a scenario was happening. The staff then locked us all in a room, and we waited till the victims started yelling for help. One was panicked at the surface while we were assessing the situation, and another jumped in with our bean bag to help. Logan was the first in the water, then helped a panicked diver with a fender, and then River saved the other. Charly and I were the first to jump in with scuba gear and found two unconscious divers. We surfaced them and practiced rescue 7. Aria and Yeya then pulled one of the unconscious divers out; the other unconscious diver turned into a panicked diver, and Logan and I had to splash him with water. It was a little scary but we were told we did a pretty good job.
Right after, we all finally cleaned up and then set up our gear for our 3rd navigation dive. We all jumped in the water and completed the navigation. Then we had three hours before our BBQ. Lila, Danielle, and Aria all got ready to go while Avram, Logan, River, and I were all practicing dance moves. We then all did fit checks and called a dinghy to pick us up. Once we made it, we went and got food, sat around in a circle, found a hermit crab, and then played football. While we were all taking showers, some used all the water, so River, Yeya, Aria, and I didn’t get to shower. We don’t fill up water till tomorrow night. Wish us luck, Goodnight.
