Location: Marina Cay
For once, on this trip, it feels like most of us got a good amount of sleep. We had a staggered wake-up time, roughly from 7:30 to 8:30. A much-needed rest after a double movie night (watching Project X and Bullet Train). We were at Great Peter Harbor at the time and our chefs Logan and Liam were preparing eggs and some amazing muffins, the rest of us were setting up dive gear near the bow of the boat getting ready for our next dive. We finished breakfast by 9:15 and cleaned up, Soon after clean up Ri started our briefing for the upcoming dive, we were informed that we would be performing a “Rescue 7”. This was a way to rescue an unconscious diver above the water, from the briefing we could tell that this was the most difficult scenario that we have done so far. After the briefing we all put on our dive gear and descended down the anchor into the barron meadow of Great Peter Harbor, the first part of this was to help an unconscious diver ascend to the surface. After Ri and Gene demonstrated what to do, we all were assigned scenarios. There would be a hero and a victim; we all played both scenarios a few times with different people; for example, Yeya was originally paired with Daniella but then got paired with Avi and lastly got paired with Charly and Aria At the surface. As we all ascended to the surface we began to practice for an unconscious diver at the surface, the steps were very complicated but most of us got it down by the end. We then all got out put away our dive gear, and began our way towards Moorings we all got out and walked around for a bit, those who got lunch on land got it at Island Roots, Charly and Aria got Jerk Chicken Panini’s which looked very good.
We then headed went to a few local stores, Liam and Avi both got watches at a dive shop, we left Moorings soon after. We then all got our PFD’s on and began our two hour ride towards Marina Cay, while underway we finished our rescue book and our emergency oxygen provider manual (real page turners). During the later half of the ride we created a new spotify playlist for our boat (link below), mostly Daniella, Lila, and Aria contributed the most, I don’t know a many of them. We then ate our thanksgiving dinner and took night showers, we currently are planning to watch a movie and go to bed soon after so we can get ready for tomorrow.
