Day 6!!! To start this sunny morning, we got zesty! Chloe guided the team through sailing the zests and George went off all on his own. Starting off strong, our George eventually got lost at sea. On the beach, Olivia, Mimi, Hannah, and I collected shells and filled a small bottle with the guts of a deceased jellyfish. We then headed back to the boat and practiced our knots. Learning both the Bowlin and Figure Eight, the team applied these skills via trust fall from the stern. We had to tie a bowline around ourselves and then get held over the water, and if it wasn’t right, we fell in the water and had to try again. The only person who failed and made them fall into the water was George. Natalie struggled at first but eventually succeeded. After an hour or so, the team went to snorkel in the mangroves.

We all saw hundreds of jellyfish, stingrays, and a baby barracuda. Climbing back into the dinghy, Yoyo had a supposed jellyfish sting, which luckily ended up being a small rope burn. Back at the boat, the squad shared many packets of ramen. Post cleanup, Maddie, Catherine, Drew, and the rest of the gang took turns rope-swinging from the boom. Downstairs, Skipper Will and I took a peaceful nap on the couch. After relaxing for a while, Zoe and Will led us through an exciting chat about navigation and boat systems. Before heading to tonight’s barbecue, we all took fresh water showers and got into our snazzy fits. Partying hard to a very questionable set of songs, we ended the day ready for a long night of sleep to prepare us for tomorrow’s boat Olympics.
