Today, Our boat, the “Glad 2 Be Here,” went on a trip to a Spanish town to complete eight community service hours at a school managed by a very nice woman named Julie. This school needed help repotting plants and creating a new turtle enclosure, among a few other projects. Sadie, Juliet, and Maddie helped repot plants while watering them. Sadie, Juliet, and Maddie also helped plant and report sea grapes. Meanwhile, Philippe, George, Henry, and Jack helped repair a playground. While repairing the playground, they also created a football/soccer net and interacted with some of the younger children at the school. I helped create a turtle enclosure with the Go Beyond boat and dug holes to create fence posts. While at our community service project, we met some kids and people who lived in the area. Stella and Sadie helped prepare our meals today and cooked a chicken salad and risotto for dinner. Natalia helped pick weeds during our community service project and clean up the rest of the unhelpful plants near the “Barn.” Bodi was a gopher today, which meant he helped everyone on the boat move their things around. Sloan helped clean the deck of our boat today after the meals as deckie. Overall, the day was very successful, and we were able to do a huge block of service hours and had a nice chunk of time on shore while helping this school. We got back to the boat just before dinner and motored back to Mountain Point.
