Location: Sommer's Beach, Tortola
Today, we woke up at 7:00 to Master of Puppets by Metallica playing at max volume on the loudspeaker. For breakfast, we had eggs and cake. Then, we sailed to Monkey Point and had our one dive for the day. The dolphin group (Lucy, Paloma, Jasper, Sean, Malea, Megan, Will, and Reese) went on their first research dive and studied coral and fish biodiversity and nutrient levels at different depths and their relation to coral growth. The Neptunes (Parker, Katie, Maya, and Mason) had a fun dive/ solo dive where we saw a nurse shark and a stingray. Once back from the dive, the dolphins started their projects, and the Neptunes were just able to chill out. Our wonderful chefs, Lucy and Sean, made Tuscan white bean soup. After lunch, we motored over to Sommers Beach, where we were hanging out on the boat, waiting for our beach BBQ tonight. At the BBQ, some of the Shippies played football and went on walks up and down the beach.
