Location: The Dogs
Today was such a great day that started with a morning swim at 6 am with me, Enya, Lily, Cora, Asha, Lucas, and Marlow. Afterward, we dried off and had breakfast burritos with eggs, cheese, and meat. When we were finished with breakfast, we left Virgin Gorda and headed to The Dogs, where we first had bean soup for lunch and got to hang out with other kids who were diving off of our boat. Quin, Enya, Lily, Max, Kiara, Marlowe, and I did a peak performance buoyancy dive where we had to show skills such as swimming through a hula hoop and hitting overweights with our regulators without touching the sand. We then took a 20-minute break before we started our second dive for fish identification, where I unknowingly picked up a poisonous snail, but fortunately, nothing bad happened. After our dive, we put our life jackets back on and went to Marina Cay, where we took our showers and had tortellini with marinara sauce. After the forum, we listened to a very sad recording of a speech given by Jim Thuman, which taught us about gratefulness and made us become closer as a group. We then listened to some music and went to bed. It was overall a great day and I can’t wait for what’s to come on the rest of the trip!
