Today started bright and early at 7 am. After talking about the long day of diving and testing ahead, we sat down for a breakfast of muffins and breakfast burritos. After all the dishes were done and the deck was cleaned, we all sat down to take the dive certification exam. Most finished the exam before the rotation was done, so we all played a fun game of “Who can kill the most flies?” in the end, we all ended up killing 34 flies combined. Then, we suited up for our last confined-water dive before going into the open water. We saw baby jellyfish, sea cucumbers, and sting rays. After diving for about an hour we put our gear away and headed back to our boat for a lunch of ramen noodles and baby carrots, we all agreed that this was one of our favorite lunches. After lunch, we all sat down with Nat for a sail chat. We finished sail chat early so most took a nap, but Sophia, Jade, Lucy, and i resumed the hunt for flies. After lunch, we headed back to the dive boat for our first open water dive. We went down to a depth of almost 25 feet to get a good look at all of the creatures. We practiced drills to work toward our certification and then put away all of our dive gear. We headed back to the boat to start thanksgiving dinner and shower, the stuffing, green bean casserole, chicken, and mashed potatoes were a crowd favorite. Even though the dishes were a mess, we still managed to have fun cleaning and wind down from the long day
