Location: The Bight, Norman Island
We got up at seven, so we had time to eat cereal and some fruit. Then we went to go to a meeting with Mike who just explained the rules of ActionQuest. Then we went to the boat, and we started to make our way to Norman Island for snorkeling. When we were on our way, we put up the Jib. This was the first time we started to learn to sail. We arrived at Norman Island at 12 and then had some lunch, cheese and turkey sandwiches. We were able to swim around for a little bit, and then we had our swim test, where we had to swim around the boat four times and then tread water for ten whole minutes. After that, the dinghy arrived to take us snorkeling. We went into some caves and saw some super cool fish and a sea turtle. Finally, we showered in the ocean for the first time. We jump in the water to get wet then we suds up with our soap and shampoo and jump back in to wash it all off. Then, we finally get a freshwater rinse. After that, we had our first dive chat with Tony, where we learned how to breathe underwater and all the safest ways to dive. Finally, we ate dinner, which was Alfredo penne pasta, cooked by our chefs, JD and Ani. It was very good. After dinner, we do this thing called squeeze, where we sit in a circle and hold hands. The skipper of the day comes up with a question that everyone has to answer after they say what the highlight of their day was. Today, my question was – if you had 10 million dollars but you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do with it? Then we did our clean-up jobs, and now we get to hang out.
