Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Starting off the day BRIGHT and early with a 6:15 wake-up and sail as we were diving first. It was a Garrett-only day, so we all had to chip in and do our jobs, but everyone worked together, and it was a lovely sail. Upon arriving at Salt Island, everyone was up, and some were slightly stressed about the sail test we had upcoming. Liam was intensely reciting the phonetic alphabet while Millie and Daisy were deep into their sail books, trying to remember key details. While waiting for Nomada to come and collect us so we could dive, they took their SWEET time, but we got there nonetheless.
Upon arriving, the Dive Masters and all the scuba instructors turned the hype levels UP. This got everyone super excited for the dive ahead, and we all kitted up. Stick and Mountain gave an emotional and immersive speech on the Rhone and how it got wrecked. Gabe and Sivanne got very wet. We then all entered the water and assembled at the bow. Next, the advanced divers all descended down to the stern of the wreck, but Imogen had difficulty equalizing, and for the first time ever, Sierra got down perfectly fine without any issues! But both the Ava’s spotted a shark and some squid, so vibes remained high.
The open water divers + Millie, which she was very happy about as she and Daisy got to have a splendid time. They all headed to the middle of the wreck, this time with Lochlan getting stuck and unable to equalize. All of the crew went about looking around the Rhone, and Sophia, Sivanne, and I got some amazing photos on our cameras. We then all got to go touch and see both the lucky porthole and teaspoon Captain Willy used. Upon ascending back to the surface, Gabe had some difficulties with his air and thought he was out, so he ascended on Mountains Octo, and all was fine. Everyone then gathered on the hardtop and talked about each other’s dive experiences which didn’t make Lochlan or Imogen too happy, but they dived with Beso not long after and had a brilliant time seeing sharks, octopuses, lobsters, and many more, so they came back very happy.
Now it was time for our lovely hike with Odyssey, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Upon arriving back at our boat, it was time for our sail tests. The best part was that everyone passed with flying colors. Liam and Sierra were ecstatic about their results as they weren’t sure they had passed. Everyone then went for a swim to cool off, and Imogen, Sophia, Lochlan, and I went snorkeling and found some awesome sea glass. We then regrouped with Daisy, Millie, and Ava H and had a further look around the wonderful place we were at.
Finally, we sailed back to Peter Island and rafted up with Beso. Everyone enjoyed a splendid shower while Lochlan and I went crazy with the flips. Not long after, we had a lovely frank and beans and rice cooked up by Daisy and Gabe. Tonight we will be enjoying a lovely movie with everyone on Beso and then having a splendid night’s rest after a long but one of the best days for us on Friend Ship.
