Day 1- Adventure Awaits
Location: West End, Tortola
Hello Friends! The day is here, us staff onboard the great ship Friendship has been working tirelessly to prepare for our incoming students, and we could not be more excited! Be it provisioning, cleaning, repairing, or whatever else, we are ready to cast off our dock lines and head out into adventurous waters. But first, a little bit about us staff.
Stef Wojcik- DIVE INSTRUCTOR
Stef started working for ActionQuest in the summer of 2022 as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. After being a student on Ocean Star with Seamester and receiving her first diving and sailing certifications, she’s thrilled to be back to boat life. She especially can’t wait to witness students’ first breaths underwater and introduce them to another 71% of the world. When she’s not exploring the underwater world, Stef enjoys traveling, adventuring in the mountains of Colorado, and discovering new passions. While she enjoys these sports recreationally, Stef is an alpine ski instructor and tennis coach in her hometown. Finally, Stef will be studying engineering in North Carolina. She hopes to discover plenty more dive sites, ski resorts, and tennis courts and share them with others as much as possible.
Anthony Gattoni- DIVE INSTRUCTOR
Anthony started his journey with GXG as a student with ActionQuest, where he fell in love with the lifestyle and the people he was surrounded by. After a short 21 days, Anthony knew he wanted to continue sailing and scuba diving. While attending ActionQuest, he saw S/Y Argo on the horizon and was told about Seamester from his skipper, Jake. He went on to spend three of the best months of his life onboard S/Y Vela. The trip opened his eyes to a whole new way of living, and he knew he couldn’t stop there, so he went to Key Largo, FL, where he spent several weeks gaining knowledge and training to become a PADI Scuba Instructor. Anthony is super excited to pass on the knowledge and experiences he had to the students at AQ this summer!
Garrett Walker- SKIPPER
Garrett grew up just outside of Denver, Colorado. As a student aboard S/Y Vela, Garrett discovered his passion for sailing and decided to pursue it. After this voyage, Garrett took his talents to Maine, where he worked aboard a traditional schooner, and to S/Y Argo for delivery from Thailand to South Africa. Garrett enjoys hockey, playing guitar, reading, and hiking when not sailing.
