Comfortable. The last word I would use to describe how sleeping on the hard top feels, yet it’s where most of us sleep and where most of us woke up this morning. As soon as we woke up, we headed to our first dive site of the day. Dodging jellyfish as we hopped into the water, we descended to the bottom and completed the second dive for our underwater navigator specialty. For this dive, we had to make multiple turns in multiple directions to go from our starting instructor to our end point, which was our other instructor. Everyone finished the dive finding our endpoint, which caused a lot of underwater dancing among the buddy pairs. After this dive, we then proceeded to our second dive of the day, which was our first “fun” dive of the session so far. On this dive, we drifted our way through this “tunnel” of coral. This site had many huge walls of corals throughout, and at the end, we saw a turtle as we were about to make our safety stop. After we ascended and made lunch, we then sailed to our final dive spot of the day, which was a search and recovery dive. We practiced a pattern called the expanding square, and all tried to find our instructor. We all found him at the end, and me and Avi ended with a lot of dancing at our safety stop. We then headed to our anchorage for the night and ate dinner. Now we are sitting around cleaning dishes and singing Katy Perry songs. Nothing compares to the bonds you build on this trip by living and experiencing all of these amazing things with people you would probably never meet any other way.
