Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today was our first full day on the boat with Calvin, Caroline, Isabel, Mora, Jace, Natalie, Robby, Anton, Ryan, Emma, and Teddy. It was awesome – we woke up with the light of the sun like 40 minutes before we needed to get up. Then, it was breakfast time, and we needed to wake up Teddy, so we threw him pillows. After breakfast, we went and had an interesting talk led by Mike M. Then we left the dock and started motoring to an island where we stopped to have lunch (Monkey Point) and to have the swim test (6 laps around the boat and 10 min floating). The water was so beautiful, and we all had a nice, fun swim. Then we had deli sandwiches for lunch.
We continued sailing and learned some knots, how to drive the boat, and lots of that stuff. We raised both of the sails and spent the afternoon sailing to a new anchorage. Once we arrived, Kaleigh showed us how to put our dive gear together while the staff cooked us sloppy joes. Now we’ve just finished dinner and are starting a dive chat so we can go on our first dive tomorrow. Leah also arrived this evening just after dinner, after her flight got canceled yesterday, and we’re all really excited to get to know her.
