Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today was our first very busy rotation day. We started the day with oatmeal for breakfast, then hopped right into our first rotation, which was water sports on the dinghy! We could choose between water skiing, wakeboarding, and kneeboarding. Oliver, Lea, Abby, Alivia, Addie, and Caspian killed it on the kneeboard, Sophia, Helena, and Jamie did an amazing job wakeboarding, Arthur and I waterskied, and Cooper did an amazing job watching and being everyone’s cheerleader!! After this fun-filled activity, we went to our very first scuba diving rotation. Everyone took their first breaths underwater, which was so fun. We did many drills to ensure that we were prepared for anything that might happen to us underwater, and we even saw some stingrays and fish swimming by!
After that, we had PBandJs for lunch, which was delicious after a busy morning. We then went paddle boarding, which involved fun pool noodle battles and tanning. Our last rotation of the day was docking! After starting with a fun hydration game, we learned how to tie different knots and practiced so that we know how to dock the boat and can do it when we go to Spanish Town tomorrow. This involved relay races and testing our knots by hanging over the water. If we tied it right, we stayed dry, but otherwise, we got soaked. Before heading back to our boat, Lea, Abby, Alivia, Oliver, and I all admired a huge yacht with swinging chairs that was anchored next to us. We then dinghied back to our boat and took our ocean showers. Everyone definitely had some knotty hair after today that no brush could fix, so these ocean showers were lifesaving. We had a bit of chill time before dinner, where Oliver learned how to make a friendship bracelet. We then all had delicious bean chili for dinner. The squeeze question was, “What is everyone’s favorite show?” We all answered that and then squeezed and clapped to end dinner. We are now cleaning up, and then we are all taking personality tests! After that, we are going to have a movie night with yummy microwave popcorn!
