Hi, my name is Liya, and I’m a thirteen-year-old from NY! We were woken up bright and super early by Tait at around 6:30 am. After everyone threw some clothes on, we quickly began to prepare breakfast which was some bagels, jelly, and yogurt. As soon as everyone cleaned up, Riley brought us to the beach. The goal this morning was to help GoBeyond clean up the beach by digging through the rocky sand to find glass, plastic, etc. Hailey, Mina, Sam, Greyson, Oscar, Peyton, and Constantin all found so many coconuts (they, unfortunately, smelt terrible, but it was fun). Then after finishing our cleanup at the rocky beach, we transitioned to a stunningly clear and blue beach by an upwards hill hike.
We were all drowning in sweat, so we took the time we had and swam for 5-10 minutes. Following this, we had a discussion with GoBeyond on why the beach we swam at was taken better care of than the rocky beach. We returned to our boat and listened to the birds chirping while Amelia prepared us to head off to the Baths. We even helped pull the secondary anchor! We then relaxed during the sail to the Baths by taking in the breathtaking views and taking a quick nap. Once arriving, everyone was in complete shock, with mouths hanging wide open because of how stunning the bright blue water was. We swam to shore and joined a long line to jump off a 10-15 foot rock. Little did we know this wasn’t just a regular line. It was an intense trail giving us endless opportunities to soak in the huge rocks and gorgeous caves. We swam, walked, crawled, and dove through all the different caves. When we finally got to the 15-foot rock, everyone took their chances by jumping in different ways. Marcel even did a backflip! Riley picked us up around 20 minutes after the jumping, so we got the chance to explore. When we got back, Amelia sailed us to the beautiful Spanish Town, where we anchored for the night. We were given 45-60 minutes of free time to do whatever we wanted (so, of course, we went for a swim in the amazing Caribbean Sea.) After playing in the water with the music blasting, we took our shower/bath in the sea, which is also the best way to get cleaned up. We finished off with 10 seconds of fresh water and got ready for dinner. Sam and Oscar prepared a delicious dinner of rice and chili with crackers which I think was a crowd favorite. We then went to the front to do our question, which asked about our favorite ice cream flavor/order. We finished the activity off with a thumb war. To top off the night, GoBeyond hosted us on their boat for a movie night (we had to bring chocolate chip cookies obviously!) We are hoping for no wind so we can get some good sleep. Have a great rest of your day!
