Location: Great Harbor, Jost van Dyke
The day started with an early wake-up at 7 am followed by a tropical breakfast of assorted cereals. We all proceeded to go to a meeting hall to sit down on a concrete floor for an hour and a half of being talked to and given instructions. After the thrilling meeting, we all left to sail off into the open waters while Hayden refined his wave-jumping skills. After many successes and failures, we were taught how to put up and pull down a sail, as shown by Emily, while properly handling a boat that was perfected by Will. We also discovered that the British Virgin Islands have a distinct hate for the American national anthem, sung amazingly by Sophie, Lilli, Lily, Chloe, and Madison, as well as its hate for hats. Finally mooring up to a buoy, the swim test began and, after a grueling 20 minutes, ended in overall tiredness. Dinner was sloppy joes, corn, and mashed potato, which was cooked immaculately by Joseph and Elle, with the leftovers fed to the giant population of tarpons and seagulls by Liam. We finished off the day with a beautiful sunset and 2 hours of educational videos and written tests.
