Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
After our devious breakfast of muffins and fruit made by Will and Sophie, everyone was shocked when I called a cantaloupe a rock melon. We started our sail to the west DOGs. Here we ate our lunch and shortly set sail again. While our trip was underway, we all split into our watch teams so we could learn how to sail in smaller groups. In my group were myself, Emily, Ben, and Liam. It was fun learning and getting to know these people. Ben, Sophie, and I all got a chance to steer the ship right at the helm, which was a great experience. Other jobs we learned how to do were set up the main sail and jib. When it wasn’t our watch team’s turn to learn, we listened to music, made bracelets, and sat on the trampoline, getting splashed by the waves below. Madison, Elle, Lily, Chloe, and I enjoy spending most of our days out here telling stories about our lives back home. Hayden invented a game called the pushup game. This is where if anybody on the ship says the word “push up,” everybody who’s playing has to drop and do 10.
Halfway through our journey, we were hit by a storm, but it cleared quickly and turned into a great afternoon. Once we arrived at our end destination, we got to go on a dingy ride which was the highlight of the day for most people. After this, we went for a swim where Elle thought she saw a huge fish, but we all thought she was joking because nobody could find it. Joseph, Will, and Ben found them soon after and fed them some of our sausages. Turns out they were a really cool color! After finishing up, we had dinner, where I asked everyone what the dream jobs were for our nightly Squeeze, where I also had everybody Quack. After this, we moved inside to watch some Dive videos getting ready for tomorrow. We had some brownie-cookies and filled out our workbooks. Finishing the day by hanging up our hammocks and sharing stories.
