Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Hi, I am Ethan, a student on Meow or Never. I am 17 years old, and this is my first time doing this program. Today was a very eventful day. We woke up at 7:00 am to have breakfast consisting of cereal and some delicious melon. We were then taken onto land at West End and learned about all the programs that we can enroll in on our next trip and learned about the rules and code of conduct of ActionQuest! After the briefing, we left port and headed to our first activity, snorkeling on the famous Norman Island. On our motor over, Anda took the helm while the rest of us hung out and learned about the boat and talked about our future adventures. Before snorkeling had some lunch which was sandwiches! During the snorkel trip, our skipper, Matty P, found a gold coin lodged under a rock dating back to 1736. He and Aidan (our mate) believe that it is lost treasure and that we are now pirates, which sounds far-fetched but listen to this. In 1750 a Spanish treasure galleon was forced to seek shelter from a storm and had a bunch of gold doubloons loaded on board. The crew mutinied and escaped with the treasure, which they buried at Norman Island. However, rumor has it that some of the treasure fell overboard near the entrance of a cave on the island. It just so happens that the coin Matty P found was near a cave mouth and matches the exact depiction of a 1736 Spanish doubloon. So pretty much, we have decided it is real, and we are now pirates and also very rich.

After snorkeling, we got back into the boat and set sail for our resting spot for the night. On our way there, we were hit with high winds and heavy rain, which made sailing difficult and painful(obviously happened because we activated some sort of curse). The rain droplets felt like needles against our skin. Once the rain stopped, we decided to hoist the sails. Alejandro, Ari, and I sweated the halyard while Jada tailed. Mary and Ano were spotters for the sail, and Carolina eased out the main sheet. Then to take out the jib, Claire pulled out the jib sheet, and Ari let out on the furling line. After some surprisingly smooth sailing, we made it to our destination of Great Harbour Peter, where we had just finished dinner and now getting ready for our first sail chat and then will hang out before bed.
