Location: Sommer's Beach, Tortola
Hello AQ parents, today was an amazing day all around and a very strange day for me, who got to experience my birthday here. We started our morning with eggs and bagels, then set off to monkey point to do a dive. This dive was mostly just for fun, but also so we could see the difference between a damaged and healthy reef. After getting out of the water, we sailed to Sommer’s Beach, where we had cheddar broccoli soup for lunch. After this, we had some downtime before Jake gave us a lecture on dive equipment so we could get our equipment specialist certification. We then had races to see who could set up their gear the fastest, but the catch was we were blindfolded. It was Lorden, Lila, Brady, Tyler, and myself versus Hudson, Parker, Carson, Charlie, Gabi, and Ari. After sibling battles and lots of cheating, we ended the competition with a 4:2 victory for Hudson’s team. After that, we got ready for the barbecue on shore. We got our food, socialized then headed back to the boat. On other days we have lots to do and are very busy, but it was nice today to be able to relax, nap, read, and just enjoy our time here. Tomorrow we will celebrate Charlie’s birthday, and it will be another great day!
