Today we woke up bright and early because Mike had to collect our laundry. Claire claimed that she woke up even earlier because there was an emergency rescue dive practice. We ate bagels with cream cheese, Nutella, and we also had yogurt with lots of different flavors. Next, we went over to Beso to hang out because the Beso students were using our boat for sailing. We did our first open water dive, which was very cool and pretty. Even though my mask was super foggy, everyone else saw tons of fish, including tarpon, stingrays, angel fish, surgeon fish, and parrot fish. We also saw other things like sea fans and coral. I’m excited because we have a coral chat tomorrow so that we can learn all about the different types of coral. It was nice because my group and lots of the others did both their dives in one, but Hays, Stella, and Kate had to do their second one separately because they forgot, which is unfortunate. On their second dive, Claire and Kellen forgot how to purge their mask, and so their instructor Sela saved them and stayed with them at the surface. For lunch, we had white Tuscan bean soup, which Drew and Thomas made. After that, we went to Friendship to ski. Everyone knee boarded except for Evan, Thomas, and Kellen. We then went back to the boat and made Turk’s head anklets which took Stella and me over five times to make, and that was followed by us making Meredith make ours for us. We were very eager to get back to Shamwari, and we were very excited to see Papa Henry, aka (Aidan). When We got back to the boat, we took showers, and there were yellow tails and tarpon swimming with us. Allie then made us a fire dinner which was Thanksgiving. We had chicken, stuffing, cranberry sauce, ashes, potatoes, and gravy. We then did the squeeze, which my question, “What movie would the person on your right belong to”? Everyone had very interesting responses, and everyone’s favorite part of the day was the dive. Allie is now making our brookies (brownies/cookies) after we had our sail chat to prepare for our sail tomorrow. Goodnight.
