Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
(Goated = greatest of all time)
Today, we woke up to the boat moving because we were on our way to The Baths. Our chefs, Libby and Enya, put out bagels and yogurts for everyone to eat. After breakfast, we arrived at the baths, where we swam, sat on the beach, and jumped off rocks. After the baths, around 10:30, we went back to the boat and motored to Spanish town. We docked the boat and learned how to tie fenders and dock lines and help the staff secure us to the dock. In Spanish Town, we all had dock time – we all went to lunch at Bath and Turtle before going to the grocery store to stock up on our snacks. When we got back to the boat at 3:00, Reese, Charles, and Sophie, all helped put up the sail as Reese steered the boat at the helm. Brij used the winches to help raise the sail. We sailed to Mountain Point, where we put our anchors down, and all went for a fun swim. Eliza and Libby attempted to master their front flips while Reid gave a back flip his best effort. Max, with his goggles, spotted many barracuda! Everyone was super scared of the barracuda, especially Dalila, though I stayed in the water with Reese and Charles to finish my ocean shower. After everyone had taken their ocean showers, we set up dinner. After our chili and rice dinner and squeeze (we all shared our favorite parts of the day and asked a question the group), we had a fun round of reviewing everyone’s names before we washed our plates and put them away. Now for a “sail chat” where we learn more about boats and how to sail! That was the end of our day! Bye!
