Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

This morning we woke up to an interesting surprise on our boat. Not a cat, but MORE BEEEEEES!!!!!! However, with some quick thinking, we ditched the area and threw our cushions overboard (just kidding, we put them on the dingy). After we took off for the morning, we all hung out together on the power tower(where all the action happens) and cracked jokes and did more learning about the boat, and took some power naps.
This was going to be our longest sail, lasting roughly 5 hours with a lunch stop in between. Some of us volunteered to captain the boat, which was really fun! Stella took the helm first, followed by Drew, who did some epic tacking. In the middle of the trip, we stopped and had lunch consisting of some more sandwiches, which of course, were delicious. After lunch, we had fun in the water and shared some laughs. Hays was told by Meredith that if he did a belly flop, she would pay for his lunch tomorrow, and he wasted no time. Matthew, Evan, and Lyla all showed us they could backflip, while others decided to go for the classic dive, cannonball, or bellyflop(Hays).
When we got back on the water, we decided to put our main sail up, which was so much fun. Thomas and Kellen sweated the halliard, Meredith and Lyla tailed it, and Claire, Kate, and Mathew watched the sail to ensure it didn’t get tangled. Then we threw the jib out quickly, thanks to Hays and Matthew.
Since I (Max) am the skipper today, I got to be on the helm all the way to our destination!! We passed three other AQ boats along the way and were speeding across the water. THANK YOU, MAX! We completed our trip and worked as a team to get to our destination. Once there, we took ocean showers and played card games while waiting for dinner.
Then came the dishy pit dance party, which was so much fun. As Aidan blasted tunes, everyone sang and danced as they did their daily jobs. To end the day, we did more scuba training and quizzes to prepare for our dive. Now we are going to make friendship bracelets and get a good night’s sleep!
