Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we spent our day still anchored at Mountain Point
This morning we had a quick breakfast of oatmeal and fruit because our first rotation day started at 8. The rotation consists of 4 different activities, 2 hours each.
Our first activity of the day was water skiing and wakeboarding. Meredith and Stella were absolutely SHREDDING on the wakeboard. Stella even was able to break outside of the wake for over a minute!!!! On the other hand, Lyla and I, not so much…we have some work to do.
Because of some equipment malfunction before the wakeboarding, Hays, Claire, and Evan had an insane dingy ride instead. Claire was hanging on for dear life.
Onto the second activity of our day, we all finally got to take our first breaths underwater! After hours of watching the intro to diving videos yesterday, we all went on our first scuba dive. We started out in small groups in shallow water, learning the basics and practicing small skills. Some of the skills we worked on were breathing correctly with our masks full of water and clearing them. When we were all finished diving, we headed back to our boat for lunch where Allie kindly had lunch already ready and made for us(giving our chefs a nice break). Lunch was chicken salad sandwiches which quickly refueled us, and now we are taking our short dingy ride with Aidan to get to our third rotation of the day, where we were learning how to drive dinghies, but there was a slight inconvenience that stopped us, from getting there right away. (Not too sure what happened there) The dingy then got beached up on some rocks and had to have two other dinghies come to save us. We still made it to our activity on time, where we split into two dinghies, and all got to drive it at least once!
Our final activity of the day was paddle boarding, which we all agreed was the best one to end with. It was very chill and relaxing. Kellen, Matthew, Thomas, Max, and Hays took on trying to balance on the paddle board at once. It didn’t work out in their favor too much.
Now we finally get to come back to our own boat for long-awaited shower time, but to our surprise, we come home to a newfound infestation!!! Not bees or cats, but flies!!! But after a quick scrub, we were fly-free!
For dinner, we had chili and rice with some salad which was cheffed up by the amazing Meredith and Claire. Now we have our first LifeWorks forum, which none of us have any idea what that is, but we are all super excited because the wonderful Allie will be leading it.
