Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
WHAT A DAY! Today, we rounded out Week 2 with quite an adventure. After eating a breakfast of oatmeal, the gap year crew suited up for one of the deepest dives of the trip. We spotted a lobster and tons of cool fish. After the dive, we started our rotation day with a paddleboard tour of Iguana Island. We stopped at a beach, where Andrew D, Andrew B, Jack H, and I were able to climb rocks and take in the view. We paddled back to our boat, where we ate Tuscan White Bean Soup for lunch, which I particularly liked. After lunch, we got to put our shoes on and go on a short hike. After taking some great pictures and enjoying the view, we all descended from the mountain we climbed and hopped back on board the boat. We had a gap of time between the hike and our next activity, which Emilia, Caroline, Lyla, and Thea used to soak in the sun and tan. Our last rotation of the day was water sports, but this rotation quickly turned into a lifelong memory when we experienced a pair of dolphins swimming around our anchorage for almost 45 minutes. After saying goodbye to our new aquatic friends, we got back on schedule, and I slalom skied while Andrew B. and Jack H. wakeboarded. After a long day, we set sail for our next anchorage, where we rafted with Meow or Never, another board in the AQ fleet. For context, rafting is when two boats are tied together at sea. After getting into position, Sloan, Sophia, Greyson, and Chase helped tie boat lines and fenders so we could successfully raft. Then, we headed to the BBQ. We ate hamburgers and hotdogs, met new friends, and played football, all while enjoying a great sunset on the beach.
