Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
The day started with an early morning cereal breakfast into a two-hour camp meeting before leaving to sail to Virgin Gorda. On the way there we were separated into three watch crews to sail the boat in shifts. Around lunchtime, we had sandwiches courtesy of our chefs for the day, Oliver and Evie, who apparently had to work with the dullest knife known to man. Halfway through the sail, we went straight into a rainstorm when Evie, Millie, and Edward were on watch. Zane, Ava, Eden, Dylan, Mirah, Oliver, and I were all up at the trampolines getting soaked by the waves on the deck. The sail was accompanied by some beautiful music and group singing. By the time we made it to Virgin Gorda, the storm had passed, and we took a very leisurely swim test that included five laps and a ten-minute float in which we played a very interesting game of telephone. I’m happy to say we all passed with flying colors. After swimming, we dried off and had sloppy joes for dinner with mashed potatoes, corn, and salad. After finishing cleaning, we’re going to break into groups and go over scuba things videos and quizzes.
