Hi parents, today is Robbie’s birthday!! We have serenaded him all day with the happy birthday song to make sure his big 18 is special. He has done all his favorite things today! But first, let’s start with last night. We had our second night dive of this session, and it definitely was one of Gabrielle’s favorites. The girls all dressed up in our grannie nightgowns, and they were very comfortable. Cara surprised the girls and also bought a matching one as well!! We saw lots of tarpons and a baby flounder! Elise was able to slightly touch the flounder. We also were able to turn off our flashlights and sit on the ocean floor. Marin and Madison danced and shook their arms to see the bioluminescence. We lit up the water and got to see the blue flecks. It was definitely one to remember. Now today, we started our day off with Will coming out and waking us up with a nice big loud “It’s Robbie’s birthday!!!”. As I’m writing this, Liam, with an already hurt hip, has slipped with tonight’s lettuce for dinner on the edge of the boat. He will be fine; it’s just a minor inconvenience. We are all excited about Madi and Liam’s cooking skills for Mexican night! After breakfast we all went to shore to have a quick hike to go and visit the graveyard for the victims of the Rhone shipwreck. We climbed high and saw some amazing views. Once we were back, Alex was already asleep to work on his sunglasses tan. Rudy tried to teach Marin and me how to Muay Thai but instead made a secret handshake.
We then all got ready to dive into the first shipwreck, the Rhone! It’s a massive 300ft ship. We added pink letters spelling out Rhone Day as we listened to Sandstorm. It’s an AQ tradition. The Neptunes, plus Gabrielle and Elise, went down to 75ft, and the others stayed at 60. We saw the coral growth and the big fish. As we sailed to a mooring sight, Lucy worked on a block-looking sunburn because of the life jackets. We all took naps in the hot sun. We got to our mooring sight and connected with four other boats from the dive side. We made what you call a mega raft. Our boat all played “boys push girls off dingy” in the water for hours. Alex kept pushing Lucy under the water and off the boat. Alex had lots of fun playing this made up game and was picking up all the girls left and right to fling them off the boat. We are all a bit scratched up, but it was full. We were able to keep our friend Ruby off the dingy with his smart tactics. We are super excited to continue the night with the other boats and celebrate Robbie’s birthday! He has enjoyed all of today and can’t wait to be surprised with a cake. Shhh, it’s a secret. P.S. Mom and Dad, I’m getting slightly burnt. It will be tan soon.
