Location: White Bay, Peter Island
HEY!! Today is day two, technically everyone’s first real day. To start off our morning, we woke up around 7 am and had some cereal for breakfast before going on land for a meeting with our Director, Mike, to kick off the session. He went over what the program is truly about and their vision plus expectations for this session. Once we were done there, we went to the local supermarket and bought some drinks and snacks before taking off the docks around 11 am. We began our voyage to Peter Island, which was a longer sail today, and many of us chose to layout, which eventually led to naps among the group. We enjoyed sandwiches for lunch which were nice to have while being underway. Once we arrived at Peter Island, we began prepping our Scuba gear for our upcoming dive, followed by the swim test, which most people dreaded, but we were able to make it somewhat tolerable. The moment everyone had been waiting for was when we were able to go out on our dive. We were asked to do simple skills that we already learned and needed to be refreshed since it’s been a while. My dive group saw a super cute Hermit Crab while diving, which we found in a Mug!!! Finally, when we came up from our dive, we were able to finally shower, which is always exciting. For dinner, which was made by Brady and Lorden, we had Sloppy Joe’s with corn and mashed potatoes. It was good! Tonight we have a dive meeting with the rest of the dive side, which will be fun to see other boats. Today was a great real first day, and I’m really excited for what the session holds!
