Today, we woke up at around 7 a.m. to a light drizzle (pouring rain). Emma and August got straight to making breakfast. They made us some very yummy breakfast burritos and blueberry muffins. After we finished munching on our food, we quickly cleaned up and got ready to set sail. We waited for the rain to die down a bit, then we took off. Halfway to the dock, our engine failed, and we had to finish with only our port engine. Thankfully, after a couple of attempts from Jerry to catch the mooring ball, a mechanic came and fixed our engine. We got to fill up our water tank at land, then with a fixed engine, Lucy, Sadie, Tom, and Clemmie helped us sail to our lunch spot. We got to swim around and snorkel while we waited for lunch to be ready. We had ramen noodles.
After clean-up, we set sail back to the rest of the fleet. We were doing great, then the rain came down again. After a long, wet sail, we finally made it back. As soon as Eva helped us anchor, we took our daily ocean shower. Zoe and Lexi safely showered without getting stung by a jellyfish, but Jerry got a little sting (he’s okay!). While everyone was finishing showering, Madi helped make our dinner. The best dinner yet! Thanksgiving!!!! We all enjoyed it and talked about what we were most thankful for. We ended the night with a sail chat and played a quick game of jeopardy. That ends another eventful day on Oryx.
