What a fun-filled, self realizing, and an adventurous past 3 weeks we have had onboard Lascaris. We are still in shock that just just a short time ago we welcomed 12 new shipmates from different walks of life onboard, and we are ending the session as a family. We are so sad to be saying farewell to the 12 individuals who have been able to call this boat their home. We have accomplished so much this session. We now have 12 new certified advanced open water divers. We now also have 8 newly certified sailors and 4 certified advanced sailors. They have learned to waterski, wakeboard, kneeboard, tie knots, and how to be more environmentally conscious individuals. We feel privileged to have had the opportunity to watch this group grow in their skills and their confidence. We have shared many laughs, random dance and song outburst, brownie evenings off the transom, fun dives, evening chats, and nights spent sleeping under the stars in hammocks. Each shipmate has brought something to this crew to make the experience unforgettable. Bella, from day 1, was the queen of friendship bracelets, making everyone one board one and teaching other how to make them as well. Phoebe proved to be a quick learner, being the first new sailor to successfully complete a perfect man overboard drill. Mishka kept the boat laughing with his random outbursts and all around goofiness (especially at night in his hammock). Tyler was an incredibly hard worker and was always the first one up and willing to help out with anything on board. Luke and Toby, two of our returning students, were leaders onboard and helped teach everyone the ropes of ActionQuest. Ada was a positive energy onboard, always encouraging everyone. Jo kept everyone on board in a good mood and laughing with her jokes and funny noises (cue her bird whistle). Cole, aka Mr. Texas, became the snack master onboard the boat and was always willing to share his goodies with his shipmates. Storm and Blake both came out of their shells and proved to be a hysterical and hard working individuals, learning the ropes of sailing and advanced diving quickly. Ace was so eager to learn everything he could about everything, from sailing to advanced diving to cooking. We will miss each individual infinite amounts and we wish them nothing but luck and happiness and they head back home. The crew of Lascaris, standing by on 72.
