Another day winding down here in the BVI’s. Slow Motion finds herself in the Bight off Norman island with a full day of sailing behind her. The Dolphins have finished their marine biology research presentations and the Neptunes completing their advanced open water certification along with numerous specialties, we all feel quite accomplished as we watch yet another spectacular sunset. As we prepare dinner and reflect back on the trip thus far, a few moments stand above the rest.
We will all miss Chess’s pancakes, as they were always the best way to start the day. Jakes goat calls had everyone laughing to tears and his nightly workout routine certainly was inspiring. Lilly and Becca always kept the feelings high with their music and playlists. Nick pushed us through a crucial moment in the sailing race almost overtaking the opposition. Luke coming through with his friend Terrance the tarp to boost morale and possibly our speed in the run. The diving consistently left smiling faces, especially Alex and Camilla with their underwater summersaults and bubble rings. Lucas didn’t always have the most orthodox navigation methods but always led his buddy group back to the boat. Robert and his ability to find all the cool critters efficiently made for some great dives. Josh had everyone laughing more than once with his logical sarcasm and wit. Fairly certain we will all use some of Margaret’s sayings at some point because they always kept things fresh and light. We also miss our friend Deni and his smooth demeanor.
This session at ActionQuest aboard Slow Motion saw progression, hard work, laughs, doldrums, squalls, and left us wishing for more. How the past twenty-one days have passed so quickly, we may never understand but we are certain that our new found friendships will propel us forward to new and exciting horizons.
