Location: St. Barths
It was an early morning today with a 5:50 wake-up. It took us about an hour to eat breakfast and prepare ourselves for passage. Since I was the skipper today, I had to check things off a list to ensure that our boat was functioning properly. Luckily, Henry and Nate helped me with that, and I got it done pretty quickly. Our passage to St. Bart’s was about 12 hours, and within those hours, we all ate sandwiches, slept down below, and took our shifts in our watch teams. This passage was different because, on top of our hourly boat checks, we now have to plot our location on a paper chart using the latitude and longitude. Giles and Hayes are very good at this. Mateo said it was interesting how we can see our trip visually on a chart, and I agree with him. Christina spotted many rainbows during our sail, and she always made sure to point them out. Shawn and Zoe got to dance on the stern, and Henry and I thought it was fun to watch them. The sunset was really, really pretty, and I would say it was honestly one of the best sunsets of this trip. Right before we arrived in the anchorage spot at St. Barts, Lauryl and I began dinner down below. It was pesto pasta with chicken and garlic bread, and it was a very fun experience for us. Henry and Hayes kept poking their heads through the hatches, asking how dinner was going, and we felt like it was paparazzi. We are about to shower and have a movie night! We’re hopefully going to watch Surf’s Up because we want to get in the mood for surfing tomorrow. Goodnight, everyone, and see ya later!!!!!
