Location: Marina Cay
After ten days of early wake–ups, we began the day with a much-needed sleep-in. We were then treated to a fabulous breakfast of cereal and half-frozen milk. Following the delicious meal, we set sail for our main destination of the day – Road Town. After navigating a tight docking, we all headed ashore. Once onshore, Madi led us to a smoothie shop she visited last summer. According to Grace and Gabrielle, the smoothies were “overhyped.” We then sat down for a proper lunch of burgers, salmon steak, wings, and poke. Although the food was quite delectable, we were all quite shocked at the price. Upon receiving the bill, Liam’s jaw quite literally dropped. To put things in perspective, the water bill alone was forty-two dollars!
After this, we split up to take on the French market, the dive shops, and the grocery. At the French deli, Rudy and Alex put their French knowledge to work, recommending various tasty snacks, and Marin, Madison, and Grace treated themselves to a “10 out of 10” croissant. At the dive shop, Elise got a neat mask cover, Lucy got a water bottle, and Gabrielle got a towel. After our adventures on land, we set sail again to the dive site of the day… Cistern Point. The wind was fierce, and the waves were high, so of course, we all sat at the front of the boat and got absolutely soaked. We soon reached Cistern Point, prepared our gear, and hopped in. The current was strong, but the wildlife was exceptional. We saw, as Grace put it, “the full fish ID card” and had fun messing around too. Will showed off his airplane skills, Liam blew bubble rings, and Cara hovered upside down. Then, to top off the dive, we saw four squid swimming about during the safety stop. After the dive, we again set sail to our mooring spot for the night and had some tortellini for dinner. The other boats were surprised to see a lot of Turtles floating behind the boat during clean up. Tonight, we are going to have a forum session and enjoy the ocean breeze. Thanks for reading!
