Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Hey, I’m Sienna, the skipper of the day. This morning we started our day with an assortment of cereal for breakfast. Soon after, we headed off the boat for a meeting with all of ActionQuest. At this meeting, we met Mark, the head of ActionQuest. He told us about action quests agreements and our student code of conduct.
Another important thing he taught us was our responsibilities as a group and as individuals. The meeting finished up, and we all headed back to the boats, ready to leave the dock. We were the first people to leave the dock. We soon learned about how to sail the boat. Caitlin and Cameron learned to raise the sail by sweating the halyard, and Adnan helped keep the line neat by pulling it in or tailing it. Soon I let out the jib, and Noah helped me pull it in. Lily and Arhan looked great hiking off the boat! We got our scuba books and were hard at work reading our two chapters in preparation for our first dive tomorrow. After taking a break for having deli sandwiches, we reapplied are sunscreen and read our dive books. Soon after an amazing sail, Noah anchored in Mountain Point, and we all jumped in the beautiful Caribbean water for the first time! We then did our swim tests. Conrad, Jacob, and Jasper all swam very fast on the swim test. After our swim test, we all jumped off the side of the boat and our dinghy Junior. Alexa jumped in with our orca pool floaty named Athena. Soon after, we took ocean showers, and then we cleaned our cabins. We ended the night by welcoming Giles to our family.
