Location: The Bight, Norman Island
After a sleep-deprived and very exciting arrival day, the group woke up weary and exhausted. We ate a breakfast of cereal and then headed to Pusser’s, a nearby dining establishment, for a quick rundown of the next few weeks from Mike. After departing from the meeting, the groups finally got onto the water and raised sails for the first time. We did surprisingly well for it being our first time hoisting sails together. After sailing around, and practicing some tacking and going over points of sail, we lowered the sails and pulled around the corner of the bight to snorkel some caves and just swim around for a little bit. We saw lots of fish, stingrays, and starfish when we jumped in. After lots of sun, the crew took a deck shower, then raised anchor and picked up a mooring ball just around the side of the island for the night. We enjoyed a hearty dinner of Sloppy Joe’s/Sheppard’s Pie that was made by Adnan and Z. Zoe and Carson are comfy and reading their books on the roof. While Claire, Derrick, Peter, and Sloane were doing dishy pit. Everyone is prepared for a good night’s sleep.
